Random Acts of Kindness Day

February 17th is Random Acts of Kindness Day and this year, instead of just one day, one local organization wants your help to make sure your act of kindness keeps giving all month.

Help-Portrait Regina is a local organization that is part of a world wide movement to “Give, not Take Photos”. This global movement of photographers, hairstylists and makeup artists share their expertise on the first Saturday of December of every year, and in over 70 countries to give back to those in need. In order to do this, Help-Portrait requires generous donations and sponsors to make the event a success. From printed family photos, take away crafts and books and a warm meal, this event is an opportunity to give back to a community of often marginalized individuals who might not otherwise have the opportunity to capture these moments in time with their families or to just have a photo taken of themselves.

With your help, a generous, anonymous donor has offered up to $200 for 200 random acts of kindness. All you need to do is be your everyday wonderful, caring and generous self. Snap a quick photo of your act of kindness and share it on facebook (Help-Portrait Regina) or on instagram (@helpportraityqr) and include #HPReginasmiles. If you’d prefer not to share it publicly, send it in a private message on facebook and our organizer will make sure it gets counted.

“Do things for people not because of who they are or what they do in return, but because of who you are”. Harold S. Kushner
