Title: The Culture of Domesticity Reclined

KRISTIN MACPHERSON BIO

Regina artist, Kristin MacPherson is primarily a self-taught artist with formal training in photography. Kristin’s eclectic skill set allows her to naturally fall into mixed media collage creations where she can combine her love for all of her creative endeavours. The underlying theme of Kristin’s collage work includes the rumination of history, layered with the complexity of the human experience.

Kristin explores these concepts through the combination of photography, sewing, paint, papers, fabrics, found objects and encaustic wax. Kristin is continually exploring the wild, mercurial nature of polaroid transfers, cyanotype printing and encaustic wax and how these materials layer and interact with each other to create works that are luminous and ethereal in their translucency.

As well as being a juried member of the Saskatchewan Craft Council, Kristin shares her love of the arts by teaching workshops around the province. Kristin’s artworks are housed in national and international collections.
