Cancellation
Need to cancel? Yes, life is busy and unforeseen circumstances happen. I get it. Please understand, while we strive to be as accommodating as possible, all programming requires meticulous planning, spaces are limited, and the instructor is compensated per person. In order to cancel your attendance in any session, we need to have advance notice.

Offsite Retreats
All offsite retreats are subject to a deposit.If Client cancels the their registration for the retreat for any reason, Kristin MacPherson Studio | Red Fox Creative Studio shall be entitled to retain the entire deposit already paid.
Deposits
If client has paid a deposit and cancels the their registration for any reason, Kristin MacPherson Studio | Red Fox Creative Studio shall be entitled to retain the entire deposit already paid and no portion shall be refunded.
Transfers
Clients will not be permitted to transfer from commitment to commitment.
We will refund fees paid and you are welcome to sign up for the new class time. Conditions apply - see above.

Locations
The ART STUDIO is located at 1005 Wellings Road. This is where the bulk of the Red Fox creativity session programming is hosted. In addition, I have partnered with some amazing community associations, community groups and local businesses to bring you the same great programming at other locations around our province. Please note the location of your session.

Commerce payments

What To Wear
Please wear clothes you can get messy in.
Artwork
Our studio policy is to keep anything of yours for up to 14 days. We appreciate the sentimental value you may place on your learning journey, finished pieces AND saved materials. If you can not take your item on the same day, please make arrangements for pick up ASAP.
Etiquette
Our studio policy is simply 'be kind to your fellow makers'. If you can't be nice and do not play well with others, you will be asked to leave and you may not be invited to return. KRISTIN MACPHERSON STUDIO/RED FOX CREATIVE STUDIO is a space of acceptance, non-judgement, cooperation, support and creativity.
Programming For Teens
Teens 14 and up are welcome in our adult programming because they are mini-adults. The only exception is the encaustic classes and workshops. In Encaustic workshops we recommend for safety reasons; 16 years and over AND they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Photography
Your attendance in class is your agreement to release photos of your art work created in class and photos of yourself to be used by Kristin MacPherson Studio or Red Fox Creative Studio for business promotion and social media for both Kristin MacPherson Studio or Red Fox Creative Studio.

Fine Art Painting Commission
Work from Photos
Yes. You can supply a reference photograph for Kristin. Kristin will let you know if the reference photo provided by you is sufficient quality to paint from. ( Not too much shadow in the eye area for example)
I Need A Good Photo for Kristin To Work From…
Kristin is also a photographer and would be happy to provide photography for you at a 15% discount on the regular rate.
Payment Process
An invoice will be sent to you for the full amount by email.
You will be required to provide at least 50% deposit before work will begin on your commissioned painting. The 50% is a non-refundable deposit to cover costs and time.
What If I Do Not Like The Painting?
This has not ever happened, however, you will not be required to take the completed painting, if you are not happy with the result.
The 50% non refundable deposit is retained by Kristin.
Kristin MacPherson Studio retains the rights and reserves the right to sell the completed painting, if you decline it.
Commission Price
The rate for commissioning a Painting is calculated by square inch. Examples of pricing below.
12x12 inches, up to and including 16x20 inches is $1.50 per square inch ( Please note that Kristin prefers not to do portraits smaller than 12x12.)
16 inches x 20 inches = 320 x $1.50 = $480
over 16x20 inches $1.25 per square inch
24 inches x 36 inches = 864 x $1.25 = $1080
over 24x36 inches = email and Kristin can give you a custom quote :)
Portrait 1,2 or…
Portrait pricing includes one individual in the painting. If you need to add another person into the portrait, there will be an additional $50 charge per person.
Surface Options
Kristin preferes to work on watercolour paper. It is her favourite surface. If you prefer cradled wood panel or canvas, contact Kristin :)
Payment Plan
Yes. Kristin can arrange a payment plan for a commission. You can pay small payments on invoice monthly. Work will not begin until you reach 50% of the total (for the non refundable deposit). Painting will be handed over to you when the total amount with tax is paid.
PHOTOGRAPHIC STUDIO
Book photo session
I will reach out to you after your online booking to confirm all the details. It's always better to plan the shoot in advance, at least 1 - 2 weeks before, you are welcome to send pre-existing images to me, so I can better understand your ideas and preferences. QUESTIONS? Contact Kristin
Makeup and Hair Services
Finishing powder, lint roller, is provided to ensure you look amazing in your photo. I don’t provide full makeup/hair services for photoshoots. Please come prepared with that in mind. If you require makeup, please contact me so I can organize this additional service for you.
Clothing for the session
Recommended clothes are; pressed and clean, well fitting clothing, avoid busy, patterned clothing, accessories in place (example tie clips).
Corporations and businesses: Please make a final decision on the outfit for your employees including corporate branded accessories.
Background Selection
With advance notice, I am happy to replicate and match previous branding styles, Not sure what background you prefer? Ask me and I will guide and help you to make the final decision.
Reminders
Corporations and business: Please provide your front desk and your security team of my details. Please also provide me with the appropriate contact information for your building security in advance of your session.
Arrival time
I will arrive at least 30 minutes before the session start time to ensure I am set up and ready to go on time.
Choosing locations
Corporations and businesses: Prepare a spot in your office/shop for the photo session. Although I can shoot in small spaces, allocated spaces like conference rooms and board rooms, are more private and calming for your team members.
Image selection
I will send images after the shoot for selection OR I can bring a computer to review the photos in real-time to mark selects for retouching. Please request this service ahead of time.
Photo editing process
PRE-TOUCHED IMAGES have minor colour corrections and occasionally cropping. They are low resolution jpgs sent via ftp for final image selection.
RETOUCHED FINAL IMAGES have adjustments imperfections including stray hair, lint, skin etc. as well as any necessary fixes. These are high resolution tiffs unless directed otherwise.

Turn around times
Turnaround time is 3-5 days. Rush charges may apply for one day turnaround.
Image delivery
I will send you your digital files via FTP link. Printing is possible, however, that service would be in addition to the session fee.
